Logistics sector expands in Spain as Valencia and Alicante see rising demand

The Spanish logistics market is experiencing significant growth, particularly in the Valencia and Alicante regions. In Alicante, Correos Express has launched a tender to lease a new logistics warehouse to manage its increasing volume of urgent parcels. The company currently handles between 27,000 and 28,000 daily shipments across 184 distribution routes in the province, driven by the rise of e-commerce.

Meanwhile, Valencia is consolidating its position as the third largest logistics market in Spain. According to CBRE data, the region has seen a surge in logistics leasing, with approximately 310,000 square meters contracted between January and September. The third quarter alone accounted for 154,000 square meters, tripling the volume recorded during the same period last year. This growth is partly due to Valencia absorbing demand from Madrid and Barcelona, where a shortage of available industrial space is forcing operators to seek alternatives.
