Logistics sector in Brazil sees rising demand for professional training

The logistics and transport sector in Brazil is facing a significant demand for professional qualification. According to data from the National Industrial Observatory (ONI), approximately 14 million professionals will need training by 2027 to meet industrial demands, including 2.2 million new workers and 11.8 million existing employees requiring requalification.

In response to these market shifts, the logistics company VLI is investing in employee development through its Universidade VLI, established in 2018. The program provides both in-person and virtual training for various roles, including port, terminal, and railway operations. In Maranhão, 78.4% of VLI employees participate in these training programs, with certification rates reaching 98% for certain operational roles.

At a local level, the municipality of Lucas do Rio Verde is also addressing workforce needs by offering free Logistics Assistant courses. Through a partnership with Senac, the city provides 160-hour training programs designed to prepare individuals for roles in warehousing, material control, and order separation.
