Logistics sector sees shifts toward autonomy and organic growth

DXC Engineering and LOXO have entered a strategic partnership to accelerate the deployment of Level 4 autonomous commercial vehicles for middle- and last-mile logistics. The collaboration aims to transition autonomous logistics from pilot programs to repeatable enterprise operations by combining LOXO’s autonomous driving software with DXC’s expertise in AI, data, and systems integration. This initiative seeks to address industry challenges such as rising delivery demands and projected driver shortages.

Separately, GXO Logistics has announced a strategic shift toward organic growth and deep automation. Moving away from an acquisition-driven model, the company is focusing on operational discipline and maximizing existing capabilities. GXO reported a robust contract pipeline of $2.7 billion and noted that 40% of its recent contract wins originated in high-margin sectors, including aerospace, defense, and data centers.
