Logitech launches Chain Reaction supply chain decarbonization program
Logitech has introduced Chain Reaction, a global initiative designed to help its manufacturing suppliers reduce operational carbon emissions and improve factory efficiency. The program aims to transition corporate climate pledges into practical changes within upstream operations.
The initiative utilizes collective purchasing power to allow suppliers to procure high-standard renewable energy equipment at competitive prices, mitigating energy volatility. The first cohort of the program includes 17 key suppliers. Beyond energy procurement, Logitech provides technical workshops, factory energy assessments, and support for establishing greenhouse gas baselines to streamline environmental reporting.
Logitech has integrated these sustainability efforts into its commercial business reviews, meaning measurable carbon reductions can influence awards for new business. The company reported that its total Scope 3 emissions have already decreased by 33% compared to its 2021 baseline, moving toward a stated goal of a 50% reduction by 2030.
