Logitech launches G512 X keyboard with hybrid analog‑mechanical switches

Logitech has introduced the G512 X gaming keyboard, which merges traditional mechanical switches with TMR (tunnelling magnetoresistance) analog sensors. The model is offered in 75‑key and 98‑key layouts and is sold for €189.99 (approximately £170). It supports up to eight‑thousand‑hertz polling, RGB lighting, customizable dials, and a dual‑swap system that lets users replace up to nine selected keys with analog switches for finer pressure control. The analog capability is marketed for precise movement in games, though reviewers note the limited number of replaceable keys and the high price compared with standard mechanical keyboards. The keyboard also includes game‑mode, key‑scan buttons, USB‑C connectivity, and optional O‑rings for tactile adjustment.

Critics praise the build quality, tactile feedback, and aesthetic design but question the practicality of the hybrid approach given the cost and the fact that only a small subset of keys can be converted to analog operation.
