Logitech launches MX Keypad for AI and developer workflows

Logitech has announced the MX Keypad, a programmable hardware device designed to streamline AI-driven workflows for developers and power users. The device features nine customizable LCD keys that can be programmed via the Logi Options+ app to execute macros, scripts, and saved prompts. It supports cross-app compatibility with tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, VS Code, and IntelliJ IDEA.

Developed in collaboration with GitHub, the keypad offers native integration for VS Code and the GitHub Copilot app. Each unit includes three months of GitHub Copilot Pro+. The device allows users to access up to 15 pages of shortcuts through two additional navigation buttons, providing a total of 135 possible functions. For advanced customization, Logitech provides the Logi Actions SDK, which is designed to be AI-friendly so coding agents can generate custom integrations.

The MX Keypad is positioned as a more affordable, compact alternative to the MX Creative Console, retailing for approximately $99.99 (or 99.90 CHF in Switzerland). It is intended to compete with products like the Elgato Stream Deck by shifting the focus from creative professionals to software engineers and AI users.
