Logone Oriental health officials meet in Doba to review vaccination data

The provincial delegation of Health and Prevention in Logone Oriental held a monthly meeting in Doba on October 3, 2026, to monitor and evaluate routine health data collected between January and August 2026.

The meeting focused on analyzing demographic data and the impact of vaccination campaigns in the fight against epidemiological diseases, particularly malaria, which significantly affects children under five in the region. Dr. Ali Soumaïne Baggar, the delegate for Public Health and Prevention, expressed satisfaction with recent vaccination results but urged healthcare workers to improve health indicators and maintain community awareness efforts.

Guiradoum Ngardodjim, the Secretary General of Logone Oriental, noted that the meeting serves to identify obstacles encountered during vaccination implementation. He emphasized that vaccination is a vital tool for protecting children against preventable diseases and reducing infant mortality, calling for community-wide mobilization and localized awareness policies involving traditional and religious leaders.
