Logroño to spend 160,000 euros on San Mateo concerts

The Logroño City Council is set to spend 160,446 euros on two major musical performances for the San Mateo festivities. The concerts by Efecto Pasillo and Maldita Nerea, scheduled for September 20 and 21 respectively, account for more than half of the total 278,899.50 euro budget allocated for nine musical acts and DJ sessions.

The municipality will have to cover these costs entirely from its own funds. A municipal tender intended to secure approximately 50,000 euros in private sponsorship was declared void after receiving no offers. This spending has sparked ongoing debate in Logroño regarding the high cost of musical programming versus its actual impact on the local community.
