Lojas Renner projects sales acceleration despite World Cup slowdown

Brazilian retailer Lojas Renner said it will intensify sales in the second half of the year, driven by the opening of new stores and the reopening of renovated locations. Chief Financial Officer Daniel Martins told Reuters the company expects sales growth to exceed the first‑half pace, aiming for a gradual acceleration.

The company cut its 2026 net revenue growth outlook from 9‑13% to 4‑8% after a second‑quarter slowdown linked to the World Cup and tighter macro‑economic conditions. Net retail revenue rose 1.1% year‑on‑year to R$3.689 billion, with same‑store sales up 0.5%.

Lojas Renner’s expansion plan targets 50‑60 new stores by 2026, including 16 openings in the first half across its Renner, Camicado and Youcom brands. Ongoing renovations are under way at flagship Renner stores in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, aiming to modernise the store network and improve the shopping experience.
