Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla Urges Cooperation as Monsoon Session Begins

On July 20, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla inaugurated the eighth Monsoon session of the 18th Lok Sabha, describing the recent rain as a source of renewed energy for the nation’s supreme democratic institution. He emphasized that Parliament is the highest expression of the people’s aspirations and called on all members to respect constitutional values, parliamentary traditions and to work together with a spirit of positive cooperation.

Prior to the session, Birla chaired the Business Advisory Committee meeting, inviting representatives of all political parties to submit suggestions on agenda items and public‑interest issues to be considered during the session. He urged that the proceedings be conducted smoothly and constructively, focusing on matters of national importance.
