Lokesh Kanagaraj's acting debut DC earns ₹44 crore worldwide

The action thriller DC, marking the acting debut of filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj, has achieved significant commercial success, grossing ₹44 crore worldwide within its first four days. While the film has seen a typical Monday dip in collections, it has already crossed the ₹24 crore mark in India.

Despite the strong global performance, the film's revenue in Tamil Nadu has been noted as lower than expected, contributing approximately 22% of the total revenue. In contrast, the Telugu states and Kerala have emerged as leading markets for the production. The Tamil version remains the primary contributor to the box office totals.

Critics and filmmakers have offered high praise for the film. Director Vignesh Shivan described it as one of the “craziest Tamil movies ever made,” specifically highlighting Anirudh’s musical score. Additionally, filmmaker Ranjith Sankar compared the cinematic impact of DC to the cult crime drama Satya, noting its gritty atmosphere and storytelling.
