Lokomotiv Gorna Oryahovitsa defeats Etar in Northern Derby

Lokomotiv Gorna Oryahovitsa defeated Etar Veliko Tarnovo 2-1 in the 64th Northern Derby during the fifth round of the Bulgarian Second League.

Julian Ivanov opened the scoring for the hosts in the 39th minute after dribbling past the defense. Dimitar Iliev doubled the lead in the 75th minute. Etar managed to reduce the deficit in the 90th minute through Radoslav Naydenov, creating a tense finish. However, Lokomotiv defenders, including Romanyuk, made crucial goal-line clearances in stoppage time to secure the victory.

With this win, Lokomotiv Gorna Oryahovitsa moves to seventh place in the standings with 7 points, climbing out of the relegation zone. Etar remains at the top of the table with 10 points but suffered its first loss of the season, potentially risking its lead in the championship.
