Lola Dewaere to reduce role in ‘Astrid et Raphaëlle’ for mental health

Actress Lola Dewaere will have a reduced screen presence in the seventh season of the France 2 crime series ‘Astrid et Raphaëlle’. The decision follows Dewaere’s request to lighten her workload to protect her mental health after being diagnosed with ADHD, a neurodevelopmental disorder.

During the La Rochelle Fiction Festival, Dewaere explained that she felt she was reaching her limits and requested a reduced schedule, a move she noted was met with understanding by network executives.

This change will shift the series' narrative balance. While the character Astrid Nielsen, played by Sara Mortensen, will take a more central role in the upcoming plot—which includes scenes filmed in Japan—the character Raphaëlle Coste will be portrayed as more fragile, dealing with personal turbulence following the events of the previous season.
