Lola Ogunbote appointed Head of Football Operations at Chelsea Women

Lola Ogunbote has been appointed as the new Head of Football Operations and Player Services for Chelsea Women. The Nigerian-born Briton began her role during the summer before the official announcement in October 2026.

Ogunbote’s career path transitioned from law and investment banking at Goldman Sachs to professional football. Her previous experience includes coaching in various countries, developing women’s football in China, and assisting Burnley Women in becoming a full-time professional team.

Born in Lagos, Nigeria, Ogunbote moved to the United Kingdom at 18 months old and grew up in East London. She has noted that her parents' sacrifices to provide opportunities in Britain served as a significant motivation throughout her professional journey.
