Lola Young describes respiratory difficulties caused by vaping

British singer Lola Young has shared her experience with the physical toll of long-term vaping. In a social media video, the 25-year-old described her lungs as feeling ‘battery powered’ and stated that breathing has become a difficult task, remarking that ‘breathing feels like a chore.’

Medical professionals have responded to the singer's account by noting that while vaping may be less harmful than traditional smoking, it is not harmless. Experts warn that users are repeatedly inhaling aerosols directly into their lungs, throat, and vocal cords. Potential symptoms of vaping include persistent coughing, throat irritation, wheezing, chest tightness, shortness of breath, headaches, and dizziness.

Health authorities, including the NHS, suggest that the long-term effects of vaping remain unknown and advise that children and non-smokers should avoid the practice entirely. Some research indicates that those who begin vaping during childhood may face significant health risks.
