Flores reflected on why the couple chose to keep their romance private at the time, stating, “I don’t know why we didn’t say it,” suggesting it may have been an effort to protect their privacy while working in television.

Despite the passage of time, Flores expressed that the relationship remains a significant part of her life, characterized by affection and friendship. She noted that while she once questioned the intensity of his feelings, she is now certain that he loved her as much as, or more than, she loved him.
