Lollipop Chainsaw 2: Back2Back announced for 2027 on PS5
Dragami Games, Nada Holdings, and JP Universe have officially announced Lollipop Chainsaw 2: Back2Back, a completely new sequel to the 2012 zombie action game. The title is scheduled for a 2027 release on PlayStation 5.
Revealed during the Tokyo Game Show 2026, the game features the return of protagonist Juliet Starling in a redesigned setting called Jaredwood, a metropolis built around the film industry. The plot follows Juliet as she is trapped within a zombie film by a mysterious director and must face new threats known as Corrupted Realm zombies.
The development team includes industry veterans such as Hajime Tabata, director of Final Fantasy XV, Masahiro Yuki, a co-producer of the original game, and NekoshowguN, the original character concept artist. Unlike the recent remaster Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP, this is a full sequel with updated gameplay mechanics and a new story.
To celebrate the announcement, a sale is being held for Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP, offering discounts of up to 45% on various digital platforms.
