Loma de Vallejos hosts 16th Fiesta del Cordero Lomeño

The 16th edition of the Fiesta del Cordero Lomeño concluded in Loma de Vallejos, Corrientes, serving as a significant platform to promote local ovine production and regional tourism. The event featured the preparation of over 300 lambs on spits and 2,000 liters of stew, which were distributed free of charge to attendees.

Governor Juan Pablo Valdés attended the closing ceremony, emphasizing the festival's role in diversifying the province's productive matrix. Valdés noted that Corrientes has suitable land for sheep farming in addition to traditional cattle ranching, stating, "The Corrientes lamb has nothing to envy from the Patagonian lamb." He highlighted that such festivities provide vital economic opportunities for local entrepreneurs and help market high-quality meat products.

Mayor Julián Zalazar also praised the growth of the event, noting that it attracts visitors from various parts of the country, including the south, helping to position Loma de Vallejos as both a productive and tourist destination.
