Loma Negra celebrates 100‑year anniversary as Q2 2026 results show mixed performance

Argentina's leading cement producer Loma Negra marked its centenary, recalling the opening of its first plant in Olavarría in 1926 and noting that the company now holds roughly 45% of the national cement market with eight plants operating in four provinces. CEO Sergio Faifman highlighted the firm’s role in building infrastructure and communities over the past century and reaffirmed a commitment to future growth.

In its second‑quarter 2026 report, Loma Negra posted net sales of 238 053 million pesos (US$166 million), a 2.1% year‑on‑year increase driven mainly by the cement segment. Adjusted EBITDA fell 2.5% in peso terms but rose 12.5% in dollars, reaching US$38 million. Net profit jumped to 7 043 million pesos, while net debt improved to a 1.30 times LTM EBITDA ratio. The company said heavy rains in April suppressed volumes, though May and June volumes matched the prior year. Faifman said the firm remains resilient and will focus on efficiency as demand recovery continues in the second half of the year.
