Lombardia reports high youth employment and productivity levels

In the Lombardy region of Italy, the employment rate for individuals aged 25 to 34 has reached 80.1%, significantly exceeding the national average of 68.4%. Unemployment within this specific age group in the region stands at 4%, compared to a national rate of 9.5%.

Data from AstraRicerche for Manageritalia Lombardia indicates that the region also maintains some of the highest value-added per employee figures in Italy. The overall economic index for the region is 119, while the market tertiary sector reaches 125. Milan leads the country in value added per employee, while Varese and Milan also rank among the top provinces for youth employment.

Despite these strengths, regional disparities exist. While provinces like Bergamo, Lecco, and Lodi report some of the lowest youth unemployment rates in Italy, Sondrio faces challenges with a 10.5% unemployment rate among 25 to 34-year-olds, aligning more closely with the national average.
