Lombardy allocates 2 million euros for local police equipment
The Lombardy Regional Council has approved an additional allocation of approximately 2 million euros to support local police forces. This decision, proposed by Security Assessor Romano La Russa, aims to expand the 2026 tender rankings, enabling the financing of 124 new projects. This brings the total annual fund for these initiatives to 6.3 million euros.
In the Varese province, 19 municipalities are set to benefit from a total allocation of 299,106.73 euros. Beneficiary towns include Albizzate, Besozzo, Ispra, and Vergiate, among others, with many receiving the maximum grant of 20,000 euros.
The funds are designated for upgrading equipment and technology, including patrol vehicles, drones, tasers, body cameras, speed cameras, and video surveillance systems. The initiative is intended to enhance urban security and provide local officers with adequate tools for prevention and control.
