Lombardy allocates €400,000 for crime‑prevention projects in small municipalities

The Lombardy regional government approved a funding package of €400,000 for the 2026‑2027 period to support municipalities with populations between 12,000 and 40,000 residents. The money is intended for projects that prevent ordinary and organized crime, target scams against the elderly, and provide assistance to victims, while promoting a culture of legality.

The initiative was presented by Regional Security and Civil Protection Minister Romano La Russa. The funds are split equally across 2026 and 2027 (€200,000 each year) and are expected to involve 131 municipalities. Projects may receive up to €10,000, with priority given to those that include co‑financing from the local authority. Eligible activities include informational campaigns, training, psychological and legal support for victims, and cultural events on legality. Applications must be submitted through the “Bandi e Servizi” portal between 14 July and 11 September 2026.
