Lombardy allocates over €1.8 million for assets seized from mafia

The Lombardy regional government will provide more than €1.8 million in 2026 to restore and reuse properties confiscated from organized crime. Four projects will be carried out in the Milan area and two in Varese, covering municipalities such as Cisliano, Albairate, Cusago and Villa Cortese.

Regional assessor for Security and Civil Protection Romano La Russa said, “La cultura della legalità passa da qui,” emphasizing that the funds aim to turn former crime sites into public and social facilities. Lega councilor Silvia Scurati added that the initiative “strengthens the presence of institutions” and helps transform symbols of illegality into community assets.
