Lombardy and Marche allocate funds for municipal video‑surveillance upgrades

The Lombardy regional council approved €429,775 to support urban‑security projects in four municipalities: Boltiere (€51,269), Ciserano (€125,886), Verdellino (€127,815) and Verdello (€124,805). The funds, described by regional housing assessor Paolo Franco as reinvested savings, will be used to install or expand CCTV systems, with implementation handled by Aler Bergamo-Lecco‑Sondrio.

In the Marche region, the Ancona municipal administration announced its intention to apply for an inter‑ministerial grant to expand the city’s surveillance network. The proposed project costs €833,211, of which €249,963 is expected from the ministry and €583,248 will be covered by the municipality. The upgrade plans 88 additional cameras, adds 28 license‑plate‑reading (OCR) units, and will link the system to police control rooms. Assessors Antonella Andreoli and vice‑mayor Giovanni Zinni said the expansion will improve real‑time data for police and enhance overall public safety.
