Lombardy automotive sector generates 8 billion euros in value
The automotive aftermarket in Lombardy generates 8 billion euros in added value, representing 28.6% of Italy's national total. The sector in the region comprises 13,000 companies and employs 100,000 people.
Cna Lombardia recently conducted a mission to Le Mans, France, to study professional training models and the relationship between schools and industry. The delegation met with representatives from the Chambre de Commerce et d’Industrie Le Mans Sarthe and the Centre de Formation d’Apprentis to discuss the skills required for technological transformations in mechatronics, bodywork, and auto repair.
Stefano Binda, secretary of Cna Lombardia, stated that the mission aimed to understand how to involve Lombardy's institutions and major automotive producers to provide schools with more recent vehicle models for training. The initiative also seeks to strengthen relationships between Lombardy's mechatronic suppliers and the territory surrounding the Le Mans circuit, while learning strategies to increase local economic impact from major racing circuits.
