A new SMS scam is circulating in Lombardy, Italy, targeting citizens by impersonating the “Centro Unico Cup” (Single Cup Center) healthcare service. The fraudulent messages claim to contain urgent, confidential information regarding medical appointments or examinations to induce panic.

The messages direct recipients to call a premium-rate number, specifically “89349445”, which can result in high telephone charges. Authorities warn that the scam is particularly effective against individuals genuinely awaiting medical results or appointments.

Citizens are advised not to call the number, reply to the message, or provide any personal or health data. To verify medical information, the official contact numbers for the Lombardy health service are “800 638 638” for landlines and “02 999 599” for mobile and international calls.
