Palmanova hosts 17th-century historical reenactment

Palmanova will host the historical reenactment “A. D. 1615 Palma alle Armi” from September 4 to 6, 2026. The event aims to recreate the life of the 17th-century fortress through various civil and military activities.

Over 1,300 reenactors from approximately 60 historical groups representing 14 European countries will participate. A central feature of the event is a large historical encampment set up on the bastions near Porta Cividale, featuring more than 400 tents.

Visitors can observe military training, historical crafts, and daily life through markets, battles, equestrian competitions, and theatrical performances. The program also includes traditional music, dances, and local food offerings at various taverns and markets throughout the fortress.
