Trenord historical trains return to Lombardy for autumn season

Trenord, in collaboration with Ferrovienord, has announced the resumption of its historical train program in Lombardy for the autumn and winter seasons. Following a successful spring period that attracted approximately one thousand passengers, the initiative offers eight new dates between September and December 2026.

The program features restored vintage equipment, including three first-class AZ carriages built in 1924-1925, and electric locomotives FNM E610-04 (1949) and FNM E600-3 (1928). These trains depart from Milano Cadorna, traveling to destinations such as Como, Laveno Mombello, Lake Maggiore, Asso, and Novara, recreating a 1920s atmosphere with wooden interiors and red velvet seating.

Additionally, two trips will be operated using the restored 1979 ALn 668-125 railcar along the Brescia-Iseo-Edolo line, serving the shores of Lake Iseo. The journeys include themed entertainment such as period costumes, live music, and theatrical performances. Regional Transport Councilor Franco Lucente noted that the project promotes sustainable, slow tourism by connecting public transport with the region's scenic landscapes.
