Lombardy households face 1.1 billion euro energy cost increase

Lombardy households faced an additional expenditure of 1.1 billion euros for energy bills and fuel over a seven-month period between March and September 2026. According to data from the Confartigianato Lombardia MPI Observatory, the average cost increase per household was 246 euros.

Price hikes included a 16.6% rise in gas and electricity costs, while fuel prices saw a more significant increase of 26.8%. The province of Brescia was identified as the area most heavily impacted by these extra costs for small businesses. These rising expenses are placing direct pressure on disposable income and the local economic fabric, particularly affecting artisans and service providers.
