Lombardy official calls hydroelectricity a strategic energy sector

Massimo Sertori, the regional assessor for energy and local authorities in Lombardy, has identified hydroelectric power as a strategic sector for Italy due to its ability to provide programmable renewable energy to maintain grid stability.

During a presentation in Valdidentro regarding A2A’s territorial sustainability report, Sertori emphasized that territories hosting large hydroelectric plants should receive compensation in the form of fees.

Additionally, A2A introduced Project Teti, an autonomous underwater robot designed to remove sediment from hydroelectric reservoirs. This technology aims to improve production efficiency, addressing the increased sediment accumulation caused by melting glaciers.
