Lombardy politicians debate Milan-Tel Aviv twinning and cultural integration

Political debates in the Lombardy Regional Council have focused on cultural identity and international relations. Attilio Fontana, President of the Lombardy Region, criticized a proposal by Democratic Party leader Pierfrancesco Majorino to suspend the twinning agreement between Milan and Tel Aviv. Fontana argued that such a proposal could create division and confusion during a sensitive period.

Separately, the Futuro Nazionale – Vannacci group addressed the issue of cultural and religious separatism within the Council. Group leader Luca Ferrazzi emphasized that integration must respect Italian constitutional values and national identity, arguing against the formation of separate communities that live by rules different from the Italian legal system. The group called for a model of social cohesion based on the rule of law and active participation in the country's economic and social fabric.
