Lombardy Region launches respect initiative in universities
The Lombardy Region has launched an initiative titled ‘Generazione Rispetto: adesso tocca a noi’ (Generation Respect: now it is our turn) to promote a culture of equality and combat violence against women. Following the formal signing of the Charter of Commitments on November 25, the program is moving into regional universities through a traveling exhibition.
The initiative aims to engage younger generations, including university students, anti-violence workers under 35, and young local administrators. The Charter outlines concrete actions to address various forms of violence, including physical, psychological, economic, and digital abuse.
Elena Lucchini, the regional assessor for Family, Social Solidarity, Disability, and Equal Opportunities, stated that the Charter is part of a broader regional commitment involving prevention, education, and the strengthening of local protection services and networks.
