Lombardy Regional Council shows solidarity with Roberta Vallacchi

The Lombardy Regional Council has expressed bipartisan solidarity with Democratic Party councilor Roberta Vallacchi following a wave of online insults. In a symbolic gesture, a headscarf was placed on the council chamber desks at Palazzo Pirelli to demonstrate support against verbal violence and online hate.

Vallacchi, who is undergoing oncological therapies, had been targeted by social media users after posting a video where she appeared wearing a headscarf due to hair loss from her treatment. Regional Council President Federico Romani described the attacks as a sign of social degradation and emphasized that verbal violence has no place in democratic institutions.
