Lombardy regional funding supports historical businesses
Regione Lombardia and Unioncamere Lombardia have implemented the 'Imprese Storiche Verso il Futuro 2026' program to support traditional businesses across the region. The initiative provides a total of seven million euros in regional resources to assist historical shops, restaurants, pharmacies, and other traditional activities with innovation, restoration, and generational transitions.
Across the Lombardy region, 511 businesses were selected for funding, totaling approximately 9.27 million euros in contributions to support nearly 20 million euros in investments. In the province of Brescia, 105 businesses received 1.76 million euros in contributions against 3.8 million euros in admitted expenses. Notably, 49 of these Brescian businesses are associated with Confesercenti Lombardia Orientale.
In the province of Varese, 41 historical activities were awarded a total of 663,988.71 euros. The funds are designated for various improvements, including the restoration of buildings, signage, equipment, and original decorations, as well as enhancing service quality and business development to ensure long-term continuity.
