Lombardy religious gatherings focus on clergy and lay ministers

Religious organizations in the Lombardy region of Italy are conducting various gatherings and training sessions for clergy and lay ministers.

In Bergamo, the Diocese has scheduled meetings for October 2026 to prepare new Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion. These ministers are tasked with providing spiritual support to the elderly and sick. The training program includes sessions on ecclesial service, pastoral care for the ill, and collaboration between different ministries.

In Caravaggio, the twelfth regional meeting for elderly and ill priests and deacons of Lombardy was held at the Sanctuary of Santa Maria del Fonte. Organized by Unitalsi of Lombardy and the Regional Episcopal Conference, the event included Archbishop Mario Delpini of Milan. The gathering served as a moment of gratitude for those dedicated to pastoral ministry and the announcement of the Gospel.
