Using surveillance footage, officers identified a 40‑year‑old resident who rented a sealed van to unload mixed waste—including plastics, clothing and mattresses—into an industrial area near via Da Vinci. He now faces a criminal complaint and a heavy fine, and must pay for the removal and proper disposal of the waste.
Meanwhile, in the nearby municipality of La Salle, mayor Cassiano Pascal hired an extra worker to collect waste left on the streets and ordered comprehensive spot checks. A resident was caught dumping non‑separated trash bags near municipal bins and was fined €1,000 under the new anti‑dumping decree. Both towns are using stricter enforcement and fines to deter illegal dumping and protect local environments.
