LOMBY raises 3.87 billion yen to mass-produce delivery robots

LOMBY Inc., a developer of autonomous driving robots, has raised 3.87 billion yen in a Series A funding round. The round was led by Mercuria Investment, with participation from Suzuki, Canal Ventures, Tamashin-SNETI Investment Limited Partnership, and Nabtesco Technology Ventures. The company’s cumulative funding has now reached 7.47 billion yen.

The capital will be used to establish mass production capabilities for the ‘LM-A’ autonomous delivery robot, which is designed to support last-mile delivery from retail stores to consumers. LOMBY also aims to expand its product lineup to include the ‘LM-T’ for factory transport and the ‘LM-P’ for personal mobility.

In collaboration with Seven-Eleven Japan, LOMBY plans to build a robot transportation network using convenience stores as hubs. The company is also focusing on improving autonomous driving AI through collected movement data and developing remote monitoring systems to allow a single operator to manage multiple robots.
