Léon Marchand explores music interests and lifestyle balance

Olympic swimmer Léon Marchand is exploring interests beyond the pool, including a potential future in music. Following his historic performance at the Paris 2024 Olympics, where he won four individual gold medals and one bronze, the Toulouse native has expressed interest in music production once his competitive swimming career concludes.

Marchand has already collaborated with the electronic music duo The Blaze and uses music as a way to relax and find freedom during his free time. He noted that while he currently practices music for personal enjoyment, he would like to release his own sounds in the future when he has more time.

In terms of his lifestyle, Marchand has maintained a balance between high-performance training and privacy. Between 2020 and 2024, he lived in Phoenix, Arizona, in a home shared with other swimmers to facilitate early morning training sessions near campus. He has also sought out quiet environments during major competitions, such as renting a house in Nanterre during the Paris Olympics to minimize stress.
