LONASE unions report medical irregularities and unqualified staff

The SATRAL/SNECCS-CNTS labor union at the Senegalese National Lottery (LONASE) has raised serious allegations regarding medical irregularities at the company’s occupational health center. Following an information note from LONASE management regarding discovered irregularities, union representatives provided further details concerning the qualifications of medical staff.

The union claims that the center’s director, hired as a physician, is not registered with the Order of Physicians. Additionally, the head of curative care services, reportedly hired as a state nurse, is alleged to have not completed their training. Most critically, the union reports that this individual has used Google searches to issue medical prescriptions during consultations.

The situation escalated on September 2, 2026, when the spouse of a company employee required emergency evacuation to the Clinique de l’Amitié following complications attributed to inadequate medical care. The union has formally notified the Director General of LONASE regarding these safety and quality concerns.
