Londa wind farm project faces opposition from local authorities

The proposed industrial wind farm project in Londa, Tuscany, faces significant opposition from local institutions and authorities. The project, which involves the installation of six wind turbines on the Florentine ridges, has encountered a negative resolution from the Londa City Council.

According to the TESS (Transizione Energetica Senza Speculazione) coalition, the Luca Santini National Park Community, the Union of Municipalities of Valdarno Valdisieve, and several local municipalities, including Rufina and Stia Pratovecchio, have all expressed unanimous opposition. The project also faces objections from relevant Superintendencies and the Ministry’s Special PNRR Superintendency.

Critics argue that the site serves as an irreplaceable ecological corridor connecting the National Park, the Vallombrosa biogenetic reserve, and protected areas of Pratomagno. TESS has called for a public assembly, urging the Tuscany Region to consider the widespread local opposition from associations, committees, and economic entities.
