London and Paris lead 2026 group travel trends

Data from Kayak regarding hotel and holiday rental searches for groups of five or more indicates that Europe is a primary destination for group travel in 2026. London emerged as the most searched hotel destination for groups, with an average nightly price of €181, representing a 6% decrease from the previous year.

Paris ranked second for hotel searches, with an average nightly rate of €144, a 3% decrease from the prior year. Paris also led searches for holiday rentals, averaging €151 per night. Other notable French destinations for holiday rentals include Marseille and Nice, which ranked second and eighth, respectively.

While group travel offers cost-sharing benefits for accommodation and transport, an Opodo report noted that approximately 30% of surveyed travelers opted for solo travel due to the unavailability of friends or family.
