London bus drivers lack access to toilet facilities

London bus drivers are being forced to use bottles to urinate on board vehicles due to a lack of accessible toilet facilities along certain routes, according to campaigner and driver Muhsin Manir.

Manir, who has driven in the capital for 18 years, claims that Transport for London (TfL) has failed to invest in adequate provisions. He stated that drivers often face the choice of paying out of pocket to use facilities at local cafes or restaurants, which is not always possible during early morning or late-night shifts.

A campaign has been launched to demand accessible toilet facilities for drivers on routes 115 and 58, specifically near East Ham Central Park. Manir described the lack of facilities as a “London-wide shame,” noting that the issue is exacerbated during heatwaves when drivers must increase fluid intake.
