London Business School launches SARI Foundation Institute
London Business School (LBS) has announced the launch of the SARI Foundation Institute for Work, Careers and Longevity, marking the school’s first endowed research institute. Led by Academic Co-Directors Lynda Gratton and Herminia Ibarra, the institute will focus on the organizational, institutional, and career implications of increasingly longer working lives.
The institute aims to generate original research and thought leadership to help individuals and institutions navigate careers that may span up to six decades. This research is noted as particularly relevant to the Middle East, where economic diversification efforts in countries like the UAE and Saudi Arabia are altering traditional talent strategies and career lifecycles.
LBS Dean Sergei Guriev stated that traditional structures were not built for longer working lives and that the institute will develop the necessary ideas for a world where people work productively for longer periods.
