London commuter killed on Northern line, tube services disrupted

A person was struck and killed on the tracks at Highgate Underground station on the Northern line in north London. British Transport Police said the incident is not being treated as suspicious and will prepare a coroner's file. Transport for London suspended the Northern line between High Barnet and Archway, leaving the section between East Finchley and Archway without service and directing passengers to local bus routes.

The incident also caused broader rail disruptions. Great Northern services between Moorgate/Kings Cross and Hertford North/Stevenage were halted, and the Piccadilly line was closed between Cockfosters and Uxbridge. Additional delays affected the Jubilee, Central, Victoria, Metropolitan and Elizabeth lines as engineers addressed other issues.
