Alexander McQueen returns to London Fashion Week for SS27

London Fashion Week has launched its Spring/Summer 2027 season, highlighted by the homecoming of Alexander McQueen. Under Creative Director Seán McGirr, the house returns to London after 25 years of presenting in Paris. The collection aims to reclaim the brand’s subversive spirit, blending London’s urban energy with historicism through elements like Savile Row tailoring, religious imagery, and subcultural influences.

This return is part of a broader strategic reset by Kering to restore brand value. New CEO Gianfranco D’Attis is leading a transformation focused on operational discipline and a return to the brand’s core strengths in tailoring and occasionwear, moving away from previous diversifications into categories like sneakers that diluted the brand message.

Other designers featured in the season include Bora Aksu, who presented a Baroque-inspired collection utilizing traditional Turkish craftsmanship, and John Richmond, who showcased a rock ’n’ roll aesthetic characterized by nocturnal sensuality and unconventional tailoring.
