London Halal Forum explores global halal economy expansion

The London Halal Forum has commenced, bringing together entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers, and industry leaders to explore opportunities within the expanding global halal economy. Organized by Halal360—a joint initiative of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development and the Halal Product Development Company (HPDC)—the forum operates under the theme ‘Halal Tayyib for Humanity.’

The event aims to examine the expansion of the halal sector beyond traditional food certification to include investments, tourism, technology, supply chains, branding, and international trade. Key concepts presented at this second edition include halal lifestyle, halal technologies, and Islamic art.

Hassan Khalawi, Secretary General of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, stated that London provides an ideal environment for the industry's development through creativity and international connections. He noted that the halal economy is increasingly encompassing Muslim lifestyle sectors such as media and technology. Organizers intend to expand these initiatives globally, with future plans including events in Paris and an ASEAN Halal Forum in Bangkok.
