London hosts annual March for Life UK protest

Thousands of people participated in the annual March for Life UK in London, marching from the Emmanuel Centre in Westminster to Parliament Square. The demonstration aimed to express support for the protection of human life from conception to natural death.

The march occurred amid ongoing debates regarding abortion legislation in England, Scotland, and Wales. Organizers called for stricter limitations on abortions and criticized legislation that establishes protective buffer zones around abortion clinics and hospitals. Ben Thatcher, the march organizer, described abortion as a tragedy affecting individuals, families, and society.

Fifteen Catholic bishops joined the procession after celebrating Mass at Westminster Cathedral. Archbishop of Southwark John Wilson emphasized the dignity of every human being, stating, “We are united in a beautiful, peaceful and joyful spirit to say that human life matters, that every life matters — from conception to natural death.” Other religious leaders, including Auxiliary Bishop Paul Hendricks and Military Bishop Paul Mason, also spoke in support of protecting life at all stages.
