London Missing Girl Suzanne Lawrence Case Reopened After 47 Years

The Metropolitan Police's East Area Missing Persons Unit has launched a fresh cold‑case appeal to locate Suzanne Lawrence, who vanished from Harold Hill, east London, on 27 July 1979 at age 14. Lawrence and her 13‑year‑old sister Michelle left home to stay with friends in Dagenham, were last seen after meeting three boys at a fair in Highbury Fields, and have not been found despite decades of investigation.

Lawrence’s sister, Michelle Hooper, now 60, appealed for information, saying, "Our family simply wants the truth and the opportunity to finally understand what happened," and added, "If my sister is alive, I want her to know that she has never been forgotten." Police are urging anyone with knowledge to contact them.
