London motorcycle rally marks 600+ days of British couple's detention in Iran

A group of motorcyclists held a rally in London to mark more than 600 days of detention for Lindsay and Craig Foreman in Iran. The couple, originally from East Sussex, was arrested in January 2025 during a motorcycle trip to Australia and has since been sentenced to 10 years in prison on espionage charges, which they and their family deny.

During the ride to Parliament Square, supporters stopped at the Iranian Embassy to deliver a letter. Joe Bennett, Lindsay Foreman’s son, described the situation as “hostage-taking” and “arbitrary detention,” expressing frustration that the couple has been unable to maintain regular phone contact with their family. Bennett called for increased political action and a meeting with Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband.

The British Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) stated it is working to provide consular assistance and that the couple’s health and wellbeing are a “top priority.” The family previously met with Minister for the Middle East Stephen Doughty, who characterized the imprisonment as “unjustified and terrible.” The couple remains held in Evin Prison in Tehran.
