London police arrest protesters during Palestine demonstration

During a pro-Palestine demonstration in central London involving approximately 700 participants, police arrested several individuals following confrontations near New Scotland Yard.

One group of protesters reported that police officers became aggressive while attempting to detain a participant, alleging that the individual was forcibly handled near a war memorial, causing damage to wreaths at the site. Protesters claimed the police used excessive force, including pushing and shoving, during the arrests.

Other reports indicated that the Metropolitan Police arrested 20 protesters for criminal damage after the Battle of Britain Memorial at Victoria Embankment was attacked. The incident involved the desecration of the monument, with wreaths reported as broken and smashed at the base of the memorial.
